How Teens Can Be Involved: Peer Educators
As a trained Peer Educator, you will participate in classroom presentations with other teens and share your personal story and reasons for choosing abstinence until marriage. In addition, you will have the opportunity to connect with other exceptional teens at regular social events and workshops!
Peer Educators share with other teens their personal reasons for making healthy choices including postponing sex until marriage.
Some of the topics they discuss are: The freedoms they’ve gained through that decision, their goals for the future, their personal experiences in relationships and how they “walk the talk”.
Peer Educators participate in monthly workshops and social events with other teens and the Free to Be staff. Upcoming activities:
- Annual Teen Benefit Event
- Annual Peer Educator Retreat
- Christmas Workshop – “Giving Back”
- Driven Raceway Social
Peer Educators are trained. Trainings for teens wanting to become Peer Educators are offered year-round.
Peer Educator trainings include an initial 4-hour group training, followed by one-on-one trainings and mentoring.
